A2 KEY (KET) / KEY FOR SCHOOLS (KET for Schools)
KEY and KEY FOR SCHOOLS are[MPBOX id=1722] Cambridge English exams which recognise an ability to manage daily situations with a basic level of English, both written and spoken. Key is more appropriate for adults and Key for Schools for school pupils. These exams correspond to the Level A2 of the Common European Framework for Languages (CEFR).
At A2 level candidates should be able to:
- Understand and use routine daily expressions and basic sentences.
- Introduce themselves and answer basic questions about their personal data.
- Interact with English speakers who speak slowly and clearly
What are the components of KEY and KEY FOR SCHOOLS?
They comprise three parts:
Reading and Writing: 1 hour
You will have to understand simple written information, short texts like signs, posters, flyers, newspapers and emails. You will have to write two texts: the first text (25 words) is a short email or a note. The second text is a short story (35 words) based on some pictures.
Listening: approximately 30 minutes
You will have to show your ability at understanding monologues, dialogues and other listening material at a reasonably slow speed.
Speaking: 8-10 minutes
You will have to show that you can take part in a conversation, ask and answer simple questions, explain what you do or don’t like and give reasons for your answers. Speaking tests are usually carried out with two candidates.
