Environmental Policy
Idiomes Tarraco strives to be an environmentally friendly workplace and to contribute actively towards environmental sustainability. To this end, the school has drawn up its own Environmental Policy with the following ten guidelines:
1. Lighting
Energy-efficient LED lighting has been installed throughout the school.
2. Energy saving
In addition to LED lighting, we make sure to switch off lights, radiators, etc. when classrooms are not in use.
3. Water saving
Taps turn themselves off after a few seconds and toilets have short flush functions.
4. 'No Paper Day'
Once a month the photocopier is switched off for 24 hrs.
5. Recycled paper
Is used for photocopies – always double-sided when needed.
6. Digital teaching
Digital materials and remote classes by ZOOM greatly reduce the need for photocopies in the classroom.
7. Recycling bins
Are provided in Reception areas for paper and plastic.
8. Client Information
The school’s Environmental Policy is displayed around the school and included in our ‘Student Welcome Pack’.
9. Staff Training
Staff are informed about our Environmental Policy with a view to fostering greater awareness of the sustainable workplace.
10. Student Awareness
A focus on environmental issues is incorporated into our Young Learner Projects. At least ONE project per level per year focuses on Green or Diversity issues.
